HISTORY

High Technology Translations (HTT) was founded back in the year 2000 by Ramon Ferreyros and is based in Lima, Peru. Since then we have been offering our English to Spanish translation services on a freelance basis to translation companies, agencies and end users in Europe and the United States. We are not an Agency or Translation Company, we are a small team of individual professional translators and proofreaders, led by Ramon, providing translation services in the English to Spanish language pair exclusively.

Ramon studied and lived in the United States for many years were he obtained a degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME). There, he learned and acquired experience on the different cultures and linguistic differences. He has eight years of experience in translation projects, supported by a solid technical education background and many years of proven "on the field" expertise in technically related jobs requiring the use and command of the English language. To do research work for his Degree Thesis he spent five months as an engineering trainee at the Caterpillar Tractor Company (Now Caterpillar Inc.) in Peoria, Illinois, USA.

Technical translations are probably the hardest of all in the language industry. The terminology can be complex and the terms and language used by the engineers who write the texts or manuals is often difficult to understand and translate. That is why translators must understand the field so as to provide the best translation of the technical concepts contained in the original document.
"A steady and straight forward approach drives HTT to success and adds value to language translation, our aim is to position ourselves as global leaders in English to Spanish translations," Ramon explains.
For us at HTT a core word is "meaning". Meaning indicates a message, intention, cause, purpose and gives sense to purposes according to the Oxford English Dictionary. If the translator does not understand the meaning of what he has to translate, the final product will inevitably be of very low quality, and we are very serious about quality.
